Lloyd George

Lloyd George, 81, of Catawissa passed away on Monday November 27, 2023 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. He was born May 25, 1942 in Franklin Township on his family farm, a son of the late John R. and Myra (Adams) George.

He graduated from Ralpho Township School in 1960 and started running his family farm after his father passed away. Lloyd ran two beef farms where he farmed crops, and peaches, before starting Rolling Hills Red Deer Farm in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to sporting events, and in his younger years coaching soccer. He was a member of Grace Bible Church, and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.

Lloyd is survived by his wife the former Frances “Dolly” Long, whom he married on May 19, 1965, five children: Faith Deihl husband Michael of Orangeville, John George wife Alma of Paxinos, Jared George of Catawissa, Jason George wife Melissa of Apolla, PA, Jesse George of Catawissa, eight grandchildren: Karley, Kirstyn, Kyle, Austin, Natalie, Blake, Isaac, Addison, great-granddaughter Harper, and sister Joanne Rupert of Milton.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents as well as three sisters Janet Kirkman, Carol Reamer, and Linda Huff.

Services will be Saturday December 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at Grace Bible Church, 209 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Mike Wynn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday December 1, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and Saturday December 2, 2023 from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
