Paul Sevison Obituary

Paul F. Sevison, age 89 of Catawissa, passed away on Sunday April 14, 2024, while a resident of Vintage Knolls Assisted Living in Danville. He was born in Locust Township on December 2, 1934, to Daniel and Elsie (Litwhiler) Sevison.

He graduated from Locust Township High School in 1952 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954, and served in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and with the Army Security Agency in Signals and Intelligence throughout the 1960s, with tours in Japan, Greece, Panama, Brazil, Haiti, Costa Rico, and Dominican Republic (1965). He was past Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8306 (Catawissa), American Legion Post 541 (Catawissa), as well as numerous civic organizations in Catawissa. He was a dedicated public servant and strong advocate for civic duty and veteran support until the time of his passing. Paul retired from Kawneer (Bloomsburg) as a Shipping Manager, having worked there from 1966 to 1998. In addition, he was a Deputy Game Warden for Columbia County from 1969 to 1996, earning an Honorable Retirement from the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Bucher) Sevison in 2023, as well as his parents and brother Charles Sevison.

He is survived by his children Paula Schleich husband Paul, of Bloomsburg, Kenneth Sevison wife Becky of Milton, Timothy Sevison wife JoAnn of Harrisburg, grandson Derrick Schleich, as well as siblings Earl Sevison, Becky Hess husband Garry, Nancy Raup, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment at the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Those wishing to express sympathy may do so by sending donations to VFW Post 8306, 115 Main St., Catawissa PA, 17820.
