Renee I Yocum (Fetterman) of Catawissa, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandma passed peacefully into Heaven with a new mind and body on Nov 20, 2023. She was 87. Renee was born on July 12, 1936, to the late Margaret and Karl Fetterman.
She graduated from the former Catawissa High School in 1954. After high school she began a rewarding career in banking, beginning with Southside National Bank, Catawissa. That bank went through several mergers until she retired from PNC Bank of Catawissa. Renee was so proud of her job and cherished all of her customers. To this day, they still reminded her how much they appreciated her assistance with their accounts.
She married the love of her life, John M Yocum, who survives, on July 12, 1959. They settled on a small piece of “beautiful land out in the country” in Catawissa. She always commented on how beautiful the mountain was from her kitchen window through all the seasons.
Renee is also survived by two daughters, Janice Farnsworth and husband Gary, Elysburg; Lynette Conrad and husband Darryl, Bozeman, MT. Two beloved grandsons, Aaron and wife Brittany and Jesse Farnsworth all of Elysburg. Also survived by two great grandchildren, Morgan and Jack.
Renee is also survived by two sisters, Lona Surface of Charleston, SC and Karleen Smith and her husband Ted of Bloomsburg. Four nieces and nephews also survive.
Renee cherished her time spent w/ family and friends going out to lunch, sitting on her daughter’s back deck and playing with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved traveling with her girls to different states throughout the years. Please raise a glass of wine and toast to Renee whenever you think of the good times...she would have appreciated the thought.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in June/July 2024 at her church, Christ United Lutheran Church. This was Renee’s favorite time of year. Please check Allen R Horne Funeral Home website closer to those months for exact date and time.
