James E. Gottshall, 65, of Catawissa passed away Thursday May 30, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born November 10, 1953 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Sterling E. Gottshall Jr. and Mary (Deibler) Gottshall Huber.
He graduated from Southern Columbia High School and then joined the Army National Guard. James worked at Penn Central Railroad and Conrail, Knoebels, Union Stage Hand, Variety Attractions and King Lightning Enterprises as an electrician. He was a member of Bent Barrel Hunting Club, Catawissa Halloween Parade Committee, Roaring Creek Catawissa Historical Society, Catawissa Fire Department, and the Bloomsburg Fair Association. He was a former member of the Elysburg Masonic Lodge and Caldwell Consistory.
James was an enthusiast of railroads, and attending fairs where he did the light and sound shows for concerts.
James is survived by five siblings; Diane Fetterman, David Lash and wife Beth, Phyllis Gottshall-Smith and companion Glenn Cooney III., Robert Gottshall, Janice Hevel and companion Samuel Rader, and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Michael who passed away in 2004.
Services will be Wednesday June 5, 2019 at 12:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Chad Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
