Neil Harris Rarig

Neil Harris Rarig, age 78 of Whitehall, PA passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at home.  He was a resident of Chesterfield, NJ for 30 years.  Neil was born on September 14, 1940 in Bloomsburg to Melvin and Ethel (Strausser) Rarig, the youngest of six children. 

Throughout his younger years Neil spent his days on the family farm in Catawissa, continuing this love in adulthood by maintaining a large annual garden. He was the President of the class of 1958 Roaring Creek Valley High School.  He retired from IBM after 25+ years and enjoyed employment at A1 Limousine into his 70s.  Neil enjoyed quality time with his family, quiots in Catawissa, Philadelphia sports teams, and crafting wooden keepsake treasures for his grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents Neil was also preceded by two brothers Harold Rarig and Robert Rarig, and three sisters, Lillian Rarig, Irene Kashner, and Jean Acornley.  Neil will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years Gerry Sabol Rarig, son Jason (Katie) Rarig of Gambrills, MD, daughters Monica (Joseph) Conte, of Exton, PA, and Kylene (Brian Jr.) Deschaine of Clark Summit, PA, mother in law Verna Sabol of Whitehall, PA, ten grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be Sunday December 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Kulp United Methodist Church, 1395 Old Reading Rd, Catawissa, Pa 17820 with Pastor Adam Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Kulp Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kulp UMC.
