Alfred H Nelson

Alfred H. Nelson, 95, of Catawissa passed away Sunday May 29, 2022 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. He was born May 25, 1927 in Berwick, a son of the late Harvey and Pearl (Hons) Nelson.

He attended Berwick High School and joined the United States Navy during World War II. He was proud to be in the Navy. Alfred enjoyed flying small aircrafts, roller skating, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a member of the Catawissa VFW Post 8306 and Christ Reformed Church of Christ in Berwick for over 50 years.

Alfred is survived by his wife the former Gloria Jane Kotansky, whom he married August 15, 1959, three children: Bill Nelson wife  Pam of McEwensville, Robert Nelson wife Dani of New Columbia, Cynthia Petro husband Joseph III. of Catawissa, three grandchildren: Joshua Petro, Kristen Foulds, Heather Nelson, two great-grandchildren; William and Michael Foulds, and several nieces and nephews.

Alfred was preceded in death by parents as well as his brother Arvid Nelson.
