Arlene Gertrude Kile, 101, of Bloomsburg passed away at her home Sunday March 9, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 19, 1923 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Nelson Rudolph and Myrtle (Breech) Artley.
She graduated from Catawissa High School. She retired from Dietary at Geisinger when she was 65 years old and then went to work with her son Rodney at Creekside Family Restaurant until she was 90 years old.
Arlene loved her family, friends, and her favorite things to do in the past four to five years was going to Giant grocery store with her granddaughter Brenda every two weeks and going to the Donut Shop with her daughter in law Gloria every Sunday.
Her motto was to treat everyone with kindness even if you may not like them. Her secret to longevity was KEEP MOVING and she loved telling jokes.
Arlene is survived by two children “so far”, son Rodney L. Kile, daughter Bettie J. Hartzell, as well as many nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law Darlene Kreamer, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband E. Robert Kile, of 63 years, her great-granddaughter Faith Hartzell, great-grandson Corey Whitenight, and six brothers and sisters, one of which passed within the past two weeks.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may send online condolences to allenrhornefuneralhome.com.
The Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Catawissa is handling arrangements.
