Benjamin J. Lipsky, 70, of Elysburg and formerly of Minersville, passed away at home after a short illness.
He was born Jan. 18, 1953, in Pottsville, a son of late Benjamin J. Sr. and Eva (Stustalitus) Lipsky.
Ben graduated from Minersville High School Class of 1970 and joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country from 1970-1974. He was a life member of the Catawissa VFW Post 8306 and a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion Post 273. Before his retirement due to health reasons, he worked as a resident and commercial plumber.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Brenda Cox; two sons: Eric Lipsky of Catawissa, Matthew J. Lipsky Sr., wife, Pam, of Shamokin; five grandchildren: Mallory, Simon, Matthew, Dylan, and Kaitlyn Lipsky; as well as his daughter-in-law, Lindsey Lipsky of Bloomsburg; sister, Geraldine Yergey, and husband, Jack, of Norristown; and several nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his son, Shawn D. Lipsky, who passed away in 2013.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
