Betty M. Levan 95, of Catawissa, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Signature Health Care of Bloomsburg Rehab and Wellness Center. She was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Roaring Creek Township, a daughter of the late Guy M. and Elizabeth (Wolfarth) Walter.
She attended Kulp schools, and worked on farms a lot. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, spending time with her children and grandchildren,and family picnics.
Betty is survived by 11 children: Joyce Girton and husband, Raymond, of Mill Grove; Janet Snyder and husband, Dale, of Catawissa; Larry Levan and wife, Letha, of Bloomsburg; Rose Winn of Bloomsburg; Ray Levan and wife, Kaye, of Riverside; Linda Royer and husband, Robert, of Lime Ridge; Ruthan Buxton and husband, Richard, of Catawissa; Bonnie Helwig and husband, Allen, of Catawissa; Carlene Foust and husband, Jeffrey, of Catawissa; Kathy Miller of Bloomsburg; and Dean Levan and wife, Cynthia, of Bloomsburg; 33 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Pennypacker, of Catawissa.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy W. Levan, who passed away May 24, 2001; and a son, Jay M. Levan; a brother, Guy Walter; and sister, Alda Norquest.
Services will be Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa. Burial will follow at Freewill Cemetery.
