Blaine F. Kessler Sr., 87, of Mt. Carmel passed away October 2, 2017 surrounded by his Family at Geisinger-Shamokin Hospital. He was born August 16, 1930, a son of the late Willard and Cyrilla (Evert) Kessler.
He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. He worked for Acme Markets, PP&L Selinsgrove as a Welder and was a Part-time Police Officer for Mount Carmel Borough. Blaine LOVED DOGS, and enjoyed playing shuffle board, camping, fishing, painting, building model planes, traveling, collecting model trains, woodworking, and a great handyman. He liked watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins. He was a member of the Anthracite Fire Co. and the Mason Cedar Lodge #378, Mt. Carmel. Blaine was a very hardworking man and had strong faith in God. Most of all he
loved his family and especially his beloved wife, Joyce.
Blaine is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Alice Joyce Neifert, five children; Diane (Allen) Fest of Danville, Blaine F. Kessler Jr. and wife Mary Ann of Marietta, GA, Kenneth Eugene Kessler and wife Deborah of Coral Springs, FL, Joyce Burke of Mt. Joy, PA, and Klara Jean Williams and husband Jim of Mt. Carmel, as well as 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild, a brother William Kessler and wife Babe of Alabama, and a cousin James Chubb of New Holland.
Blaine was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Edward Kessler, and two sisters; Joanne Wahosky, and Betty Rhoades.
A memorial service will be held November 11, 2017 at 12:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 46 N Hickory St, Mt Carmel, PA 17851 with Pastor Kay Painter officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service at the church.
