Carl L Hendricks

Carl L. Hendricks, 73, of Bloomsburg passed away unexpectedly Thursday October 21, 2021. He was born September 6, 1948 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Albert and Edna (Helwig) Hendricks.

He graduated from Southern Columbia High School class of 1966 where he played football, baseball, and wrestled. Carl joined the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked at Magee Carpet and then the United States Postal Office in Bloomsburg retiring after 36 years. He worked part time at the Bloomsburg Auto Auction. He was a member of Southside Hunting Club.

Carl enjoyed hunting, following professional and college football and baseball, and was always a fan of the Southern Columbia Football. He met every morning with his buddies at McDonald’s-Walmart for coffee. Carl loved his two daughters more than life itself. He was a good man, good husband, and wonderful father. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Carl is survived by his wife the former Joan Grantier, whom he married August 18, 1984, two daughters Gail Herrold husband Jeremy of Catawissa, Erin Kopchak husband James of Turbotville, and longtime best friend since childhood Guy Eveland.

Services will be Wednesday October 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, PA, 17820 with Pastor Eric Attinger officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 am until time of service.
