Catherine S. Carl, 90, of Catawissa went to be with her Lord Sunday August 14, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Catherine was born June 15, 1926 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Harry and Anna Saray.
She attended Berwick High School, and then worked for R&G Silk Mill, Bloomsburg. Catherine is known for sitting on her porch and talking to neighbors. She always had a pot of coffee on at all times for family and friends. Having gatherings at her kitchen table or picnic in her yard in her earlier years on the farm in the hollow made her the happiest. She will be missed by all who was touched by her kindness and beautiful smile.
Catherine is survived by two sons; Lewis L. Carl III. And wife Marie of Catawissa, Ronald L. Carl of Grovania, and two daughters; Patricia A. Millar of Danville, and Sandra (Sis) Joline and husband Edward of Berwick, sister Sandra Zimmerman of Georgia, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Lewis L. Carl Jr. who passed away in 1981, son Warren (Butch) Carl, two grandsons; Nathan Carl and Janaka Carl, son-in-law Vaughn Millar, daughter-in-law Barbara Carl, three brothers: Mike, Nick, and Louie, and three sisters; Mary, Nettie, and Caroline.
Services will be Thursday August 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with her daughter Patricia Millar officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am till time of service.
