Christine "Kris" Kowalchick Obituary

Christine M. “Kris” Kowalchick, 71, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas M. “Nick” Kowalchick.

Born December 24, 1954, in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clint and Betty (Kremser) Snyder.

Christine was a 1973 graduate of Southern Columbia High School. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others. She worked in various nursing homes as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where her compassion and steady presence brought comfort to countless residents and their families. Later, she retired from Kydex LLC, where she worked as a shipping clerk.

She was a member of Numidia Valley Bible Fellowship and found strength and fellowship in her faith. Christine lived a life centered on the people and simple joys she loved most. She had a special affection for animals and especially treasured her beloved cat, Bogie. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time at yard sales, always appreciating the excitement of finding something special. She also loved family gatherings, watching from her window for wildlife, and all things wolves, which reflected her appreciation for beauty, loyalty, and the natural world.

Surviving is her son, Eric Kowalchick of Bloomsburg; her daughter, Carin Marks (Larue III) of Catawissa; four grandchildren, Morgan Marks, Madyson Marks, Brenna (Kowalchick) McHenry, and Larue Marks IV; her brother, John Snyder (Karen) of Catawissa; her sister, Carol Gearhart of Shamokin; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Bogie.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
