David James Fox

David James Fox of Bloomsburg, Pa, was born May 16, 1944, and was the son of the late James Keller and Kathryn E. Fox.  He passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the age of 78, after being admitted to hospice at Geisinger Medical Center earlier that day. 

Dave was a member of the last class of Catawissa High School, graduating in 1962.  He was an original member of the Minutemen, established in 1974, during the Catawissa Bicentennial.  The group was involved in the community and many charitable works throughout the years. 

Dave was a member of RCV United Methodist Church, Catawissa, and enjoyed helping with the monthly mission breakfast.  He also enjoyed volunteering with the Catawissa Food Bank.  Dave was always willing to help those in need in any way possible. 

Dave is survived by his wife, Nancy Fox, who he married on July 9, 1982, having celebrated their 40th anniversary last year.  He is also survived by: daughter Amy Kauffman, son Ryan Fox (wife Melissa), grandchildren Daidyn, Becca, and Cathen Kauffman, and sister Diane Fox (companion Frank Monoski), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

After high school, Dave worked at Catawissa Shirt Factory.  He then served in the Army from 1965-1968, working on a missile base.  He retired from Autoneum and enjoyed spending his retirement time with his grandchildren.  He also loved shopping and finding the best deals on anything he wanted to buy.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at RCV UMC in Catawissa on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00am, with a meal to follow.  Friends and family may be received starting at 10:00am.
