Donald "Frank" E. McCormick

Donald “Frank” E. McCormick, 82, of Bloomsburg passed away Wednesday November 20, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1937 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Jacob S. and Faye I. (Rupp) McCormick.

He attended Catawissa School and then served with the United States National Guard from 1955-1958. Don worked at Magee Carpet for over 40 years, retiring in 1999. For 12 years, he also spent evenings as a Deputy Game Protector for the PA Game Commission. Frank coached the local youth baseball team for several years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and anything outdoors.

Frank is survived by his wife the former Nola B. Cook, whom he married June 24, 1962; son Michael A. McCormick and wife Michelle of Harrisburg; daughter Christine A. McCormick of Seattle, Washington; and three grandchildren: Tristan, Rachel, and Anna McCormick.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother James “Jesse” McCormick.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday December 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Mike Spagnuolo officiating. Private burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service.
