Doreen M. McBride, 60, of Catawissa passed away Monday February 6, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1956 in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Kane) Bressi.
She graduated from Our Lady Of Lourdes Regional High School class of 1974. Doreen worked as a secretary for Atlantic Equipment. She loved to cook, bake, University of Michigan football, making crafts, and going to Christian concerts.
Doreen is survived by her husband Michael P. McBride whom she married May 17, 1975, three children; Kelly Melka and husband Mike of Wayne, PA, Michelle Steffen and husband Eric of Lewisburg, and Michael C. McBride of Kingston, and three grandchildren; Gavin Sheriff, Lanie Melka, and Austin Melka. As well as two brothers; Jimmy Bressi and wife Pat of Shamokin, and Albert Bressi and wife Camille of Kulpmont, and four sisters; Dolores Elliott and husband Reynold of Elysburg, Tina Wilk, Eleonor Evans and husband Robert of Shamokin, and Merry Csatlos, all of Shamokin.
Doreen was preceded in death by her parents as well as three brothers; Charles “Junior” Bressi, Vince Bressi, and Bobby Bressi.
A memorial service will be held Saturday February 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Scott Fetterhoff officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until time of service.
