Doris Lorraine Widger, 93, of Catawissa went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Gardens at Orangeville.
Doris was born in Centralia on April 1, 1924, a daughter of the late Walter and Miriam (Rider) Kimmel.
Doris was a graduate of Locust Township High School and a member of St. Paul’s Esther Furnace Church, which merged with Roaring Creek Valley Church.
She worked as a seamstress and enjoyed sewing, baking, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bruce “Mike” Widger, in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Diann Stanchock, and her husband, Dennis, of Catawissa; two grandchildren: Dennis L. Stanchock, of Northampton; and Jason M. Stanchock and his wife, Missi, of Brea, Calif.; four great-grandchildren: Ryley, Owen, Evan and Kyle; and one sister: Marjorie Yocum of Catawissa.
Services will be Friday, April 14, 2017, at 11 a.m., from the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, PA 17820, with Pastor Adam Miller, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Esther Furnace Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
