Edward R Giannattasio Jr.

Edward R. Giannattasio Jr., 64, of Catawissa passed away Monday November 7, 2022 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1958 in New York City,  son of the late Edward R. and Margaret (Jenkins) Giannattasio Sr.

He graduated from Bloomsburg High School and from Millersville University in Art Education. Ed was a founding member of Fishing Creek Green Alliance and was the 2022 Democratic 109th State Representative candidate. He loved nature, being outdoors and sharing that passion with others. He believed in the promise of humanity. He volunteered for Big Brothers and Sisters. He was a local artist and owned Art Ventures for over 36 years and mentored dozens of students and aspiring artists. He was a strong environmentalist.

Ed is survived by his wife of 30 years,  Mary Jane Reed, sister Darle Ronayne and husband Kevin of Bohemia, NY,brother Bill Manning and wife Linda of Las Vegas, Nevada and nephews Kevin, Robbie and Jason Ronayne, their wives and children. Also survived by his little brother Marshall McMcullom of Seattle, Washington

A mass of Christian burial held Saturday November 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 304 Slabtown Rd, Catawissa with Father Dennis G. Dalessandro officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
