Ernest Ira Green, 88, of Mifflintown, PA, passed away March 20, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born March 10, 1929 in Dalton, PA, a son of the late Ira and Bessie (Griffin) Green.
He graduated from Factoryville High School and then retired from Agway. Ernest enjoyed going to Tingley Lake and making memories with family and friends at the lake. He also liked hunting at his cabin, fishing, camping, and working in his garden.
Ernest is survived by his wife the former Emma Hauck, whom he married May 11, 1968, two daughters Donna K. Hall of Clarks Summit, PA, and JoAnn Heckman of Chambersburg, PA, four grandchildren; Greg Hall Jr., Tammy White, Sarah Landis, Corey VanScyoc, seven great-grandchildren; Jesse, Ally, and Dylan Hall, Garrett and Kynslee VanScyoc, Tyler White and Baby Landis, sister Lois Green, and nieces and nephews.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents as well as brother Russell Green, and two sisters Helen Green and Mary McCaleb.
Services will be Saturday March 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Mike Spagnuolo officiating. Burial will follow at Millgrove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until time of service.
