Eugene D Drumheller Jr.

Eugene D. Drumheller Jr., 87, of Ashton Hollow Road, Catawissa passed away on Saturday April 8, 2023 at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville. He was born on February 25, 1936 in Catawissa a son of the late Eugene D. and Clara A. (Haydt) Drumheller.

He was a lifelong resident of Catawissa. He retired from Catawissa Lumber Specialty Company where he worked for 31 years. He was employed at Cabinet Industries in Danville for 11 years prior to Catawissa Lumber. Eugene enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends, and could always be found working in his garage on various tractors, cars, trucks, and projects. He always had a strawberry patch and an amazing vegetable garden each year that he shared with his family and friends. 

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents as well as his son Randall S. Drumheller who passed away on March 26, 2023, four siblings; Roy D. Drumheller who passed on April 25, 1993, Helen M. Rarig who passed on April 17, 2021, Lloyd D. Drumheller who passed on May 26, 1994, Betty J. Andreas who passed on February 5, 1999, and grandson James D. Drumheller who passed away on May 20, 2002.

Eugene was the last of his immediate family.

Eugene is survived by his wife the former Joan M. Gotshall, whom he married June 5, 1954, and would have celebrated their 69th anniversary in June, daughter-in-law Tammy S. (Knorr) Drumheller, four grandchildren; Johnathon S. Drumheller wife Justine, Adam J. Drumheller fiancée Marisa Rhodes, all of Catawissa, Montana M. Drumheller fiancé Timothy Gelnet, of Stillwater, Tabitha A. Yost, and two great-grandchildren Owen J. and Lily J. Drumheller, whom pappy loved spending time with each day. 

Eugene will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and many relatives. 

Services will be Monday April 17, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Mike Spagnuolo officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service.
