Evelyn M. (Persing) Rhodes

Evelyn M. Rhodes, 96, of Bloomsburg passed away on Saturday March 7, 2026 at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on January 5, 1930 in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Fred and Elsie (George) Persing.

She attended Sunbury Schools and worked at Regal and Emenee Shirt Factory in Catawissa as a presser until she retired. She was a former member of Esther Furnace Church.

Evelyn is survived by her son Gary Rhodes wife Monna of Bloomsburg, grandson David Rhodes of Catawissa, and granddaughter Danica Rhodes.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Eugene Rhodes, and four brothers; Marlin, Kenneth, Robert, and Leroy Persing.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday March 12, 2026 at 11:00 am at Esther Furnace Cemetery. Family and friends may send online condolences to allenrhornefuneralhome.com. The Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Catawissa is handling arrangements.
