Fannie E. Shultz, 92, of Danville passed away on November 16, 2015 at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville. She was born December 9, 1922 in Washingtonville, a daughter of the late Wilber and Laura (Wydman) Billhime.
Fannie lived most of her life in Catawissa, until moving to Grandview in 2014. She retired at age 90, having worked for the former L.R. Letterman Bakery in Catawissa, then running her own one person cleaning business in Catawissa. Her clientele included several longtime Catawissa residents, the Catawissa Branch of First Eastern Bank and Catawissa Borough, where she developed a long time friendship with the Catawissa Police Dept. She was active with the Catawissa Senior Center and Meals on Wheels program, well into her 80s, as she described, “helping the older people.” Fannie was very active with the former United Church of Christ in Catawissa. She worked for many years at the UCC’s dining hall at the Bloomsburg Fair. She was also a mainstay at the church each year making Easter Eggs.
Fannie was preceded in death her parents, as well as her husband, Frank W. Shultz and daughter, Judy K. Lutz.
Fannie is survived by her children Ruth Wolfe, Washingtonville, Mabel Shultz, Bloomsburg, Charlie Shultz (Pat) Elysburg, Wayne “Buckwheat” Shultz, Catawissa, sister Mabel Longenberger, step children Bill (Janet) Shultz, Margaret (Leonard) Koons, Elizabeth Fronk, Jean Longenberger, and a son-in-law Bill Lutz. Services will be Thursday November 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Charles Swank officiating. Burial will follow at Catawissa Hillside Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am till time of service.
