Gary Lee Honabach Sr., 83, of Catawissa, passed away on June 18, 2022, at his residence. He was born April 19, 1939, in Shamokin, a son of the late Jay and Florence (Straub) Honabach.

Gary relished spending time with his family, attending outdoor gatherings and playing pinochle. He enjoyed driving MaryLou throughout the countryside looking at the wind turbines, sunflowers, and taking in the scenic views along their travels which allowed them to experience local restaurants along the way. Anyone who knew Gary would agree that he always had a smile on his face and he was a very giving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He volunteered as a Little League coach and scout master in his earlier years. He enjoyed attending various events that his grandchildren participated in as well as attending Southern Columbia football games and watching Penn State and Seattle Seahawks football games.
Gary worked at American Finance, Metropolitan Insurance, Keller’s Wholesale, Catawissa Bottling, Catawissa Cracker Barrel, and Wise Borden until his retirement.
