Harold D. Kitchen, 84, of Catawissa passed away Wednesday October 19, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born June 15, 1938 in Madison Township, a son of the late Charles and Lula (Robbins) Kitchen.
He graduated from Millville High School and then joined the United States Army. Harold worked for the Carpenters Union and for H.H. Knoebels and Sons retiring in 2011. Harold was a member of the South Side Area Ambulance, Catawissa Hose Co. #1, Elysburg Masonic Lodge, and in his younger years was a Boy Scouts Leader. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, making wood crafts, and spending time with his family.
Harold is survived by his wife the former Elda “Dolly” Breech, whom he married September 6, 1958, son James Kitchen, daughter Sandra Allen and husband Paul, six grandchildren; Stephanie Ashton husband William, Sarah and Emily Allen, Nicki Christensen, Brett and Billy Ashton. As well as his sister Mavis K. Keller.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers; John, Earle, Lester, Carl, Wayde, and Charles Kitchen, six sisters; Francis Hummel, Ada Hartman, Jessie Kirchman, Almerta Woodside, Eleanor Martenas, and Vivian Kirchman. As well as grandson Shawn Richenderfer in 2010 and daughter-in-law Bonnie Kitchen in 2020.
Services will be Monday October 24, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Pastor Mike Spagnuolo officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
