Helen E (Getkin) Huntington

Helen E. Huntington, 93, formally of Catawissa; went to be with the Lord, Saturday December 19, 2020, at Emmanuel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Danville where she was a resident since March.

Helen was born November 16, 1927, in Danville, a daughter of the late Ralph D. and Mercy (Bucher) Getkin, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl (Sam) Huntington, whom she married on March 26, 1949 and passed on January 16, 2011, two siblings, Ralph E. Getkin and Rhea Getkin.

Helen was a graduate of Catawissa High School Class of 1945 and then was a graduate of Empire Beauty College in 1946. She was owner of Beautician and Salon for 44 years and belonged to E.L.C.A. and mission Quilters. Helen was a member of Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Catawissa.

Helen was the last of her immediate family and is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be private at Elan Memorial Park Bloomsburg.
