Jacqueline (Jackie) LeVan, 85, of Catawissa passed away Sunday June 19, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center. She was born October 24, 1930 in Mount Carmel, a daughter of the late James and Bessie (Swartz) Brassington.
She attended schools in Cleveland Township and worked at Emenee and Regal Shirt Factories in Catawissa, Magee’s in Bloomsburg, Champ’s in Shamokin, and was a partner at Southside Sporting Goods. Jackie attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Bloomsburg. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing guitar in her younger years. Family was the most important thing to her.
Jackie is survived by her husband Glen (Sandy) LeVan whom she married November 5, 1954, son Mark A. LeVan and wife Malen of Catawissa, grandson Caleb LeVan and step-grandson Mitchell Walp. Also three sisters; Nancy Yeager and husband Albert, Marlene Welkom and husband Jack, and Diane Harner, all of Catawissa, and several nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, son James V. LeVan, four brothers; Elwood, Robert, Kenneth, and James Brassington, and three sisters; Ruth Matsko, Lenora Nye, and Betty (June) Roush.
Services will be Thursday June 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 706 Central Rd, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 with her Pastor John Kolenda officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Wednesday June 22, 2016 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa.
