James "Jim" R Beggs

James “Jim” R. Beggs, 86, of Catawissa, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Vintage Knolls of Danville.

He was born in February 3, 1934 in Eddystone, Pa, a son of the late Paul and Florence “Polter” Beggs.

Jim graduated from Eddystone High School.  After high school Jim served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict.  Jim is a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed coin collecting, fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara who passed away in 2010, daughter Nancy who passed in 1973, brother William, and sister Florence Rzosa.

He is survived by a son James Beggs and his wife Wanda, daughter Janice Beggs both of Danville, three grandchildren; Christopher, Casey and Cody Beggs, great grandson Christopher Beggs, brother Paul and his wife Ellen of Glen Mills, and sister Dorothy Ann and her husband Bernard Short of Tenn.

Service will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Allen R. Horne Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 193 McIntyre Rd. Catawissa, Pa 17820 with his pastor Rev. Susan O. Rogutski officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Mount Hope Cemetery (Delaware County).  Family and friends may send condolences at www.allenrhornefuneralhome.com.
