John S. Camp, 91, of rural Catawissa passed away peacefully September 14, 2017. He was born May 11, 1926 in Roaring Creek, Catawissa, living his entire life in the house in which he was born. He was the son of the late Blake and Esther (Yeager) Camp.
He graduated from Numidia High School Class of 1944. John and his father operated the family farm until 1968 when he went to work at Kawneer. After his retirement in 1989 John continued maintaining the family farm and working on daily projects that kept him busy. John was a member of Kulp United Methodist Church where he was formally President of the Cemetery Association. He loved going on cruises with his wife, and enjoyed farming.
John is survived by two daughters Susan Potter and husband John of Catawissa and Nancy Rose and husband David of Mohrsville, PA.
John was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife the former Ruth Hoffman who passed away in 2001, and sister Ruth Helwig.
Services will be Monday September 18, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Kulp United Methodist Church, 1395 Old Reading Road, Catawissa with his Pastor Adam Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Kulp Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service.
