John Dancho, 90, of Catawissa, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015, at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital. Born Feb. 14, 1925, in Wilburton, he was the youngest of seven children of the late Michael and Mary (Herko) Dancho.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, John was a longtime employee of TRW/Textron, Danville, and retired from Hanover Foods, Bloomsburg. He had been a very active member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Slabtown, until his health declined, and was a life member of Catawissa VFW Post 8306. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending garden in his earlier years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Theresa Graboski, with whom he would have celebrated a 67th wedding anniversary on Aug. 14; a son, Wayne J. Dancho, and wife, Linda, Catawissa; two granddaughters: Laurie (Dancho) Hilborn, and husband, Christopher, Yorktown, Va., and Kellie Dancho Chavey, and husband, Ed, Burbank, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren: Guinevere, Nicholas and Ashleigh Hilborn and Sydney Chavey. He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Ronald Graboski and wife, Patti, Northumberland; Edward Graboski and wife, Nancy, Catawissa; two sisters-in-law: Marie and husband, Daniel Monkiewicz, Danville, and Rozann and husband, Dr. Randall Grasley, Pine Township, Talmar, along with several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held for the family, with Father Thomas Mannion, his pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. The Allen R.
