John Earl Mack Jr.

John Earl Mack Jr., 88, of Catawissa passed away on Sunday November 3, 2024, at Sunset Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born August 6, 1936, in Fountain Springs, a son of the late John E. Mack Sr. and Freda (Foose) Mack.

He graduated from Mahoning Township High School in 1954 and enlisted in the United States Navy being honorably discharged in 1958. John and his wife Anna lived in New Jersey for 36 years until moving into his current residence in 1996. John was an avid train collector. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He retired from American Airlines where he worked on the freight docks.

John is survived by two children; John E. Mack wife Diane of Catawissa, Deborah Ann Mack of Danville, four grandchildren; Jay Bradford, John Paul Seymour, Caitlyn Angelo, Wyatt Mack, and four great-grandchildren; Marlee, Easton, Apollos, and Luna. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

John was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife the former Anna M. Benedict, who passed away on February 20, 2002.

Services will be Thursday November 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa. Burial will follow at Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service.
