June A. Miller, 87 years, passed away on December 4, 2020 at her home in Harrisburg. Born in Numidia, she was the daughter of the late G. Clyde and Florence Miller.
After graduating from Locust Township High School, she furthered her education at Thompson Business School. She worked for the Pennsylvania State Milk Market Board as an administrative assistant for 24 years and for Polyclinic Medical Center before retiring.
June was 87 in number only, she refused to be defined by her age or anything else. She was a pioneer that did not bend to society and set her own standards in a time when women couldn't/shouldn't.
June spent retirement doing what she enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, quilting and creating whatever she could dream up. She loved to socialize, was a member of St Mark's Lutheran Church, Xi Beta Psi Sorority, Linglestown Garden Club, The Quilt Guild, The Golden Age Group and was blessed with wonderful neighbors and friends.
June had a goal to make the “Smucker's 100 List”. While she didn’t make the list, she did have 100 years of living in her 87 years.
June is survived by her sisters Peggy (Miller) Tubberville, Catawissa; Frances(Miller) Kline, Center Valley; sister-in-law Eleanor (Doraski) Miller, Numidia and three generations of nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Gerald, Paul, Carl, Charles, George; her sisters Elsie, Hazel, Ethel, Grace and her beloved cat Missy.
Services will be announced at a later date.
