Katherine D. Brown, 58, of Catawissa passed away Tuesday February 2, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born July 22, 1957 In Hawaii, a daughter of Barry Brown of Marlton, New Jersey and step-mother Barbara and the late Ida Nancy (Rombach) Brown.
She graduated in 1975 from Haddonfield High School, New Jersey and from Bloomsburg University. She belonged to Catawissa Auxiliary VFW and Legion Auxiliary. Katherine loved going to the family beach house on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. She was an animal lover and always had pets around her house. Katherine enjoyed going to the beach and collecting discarded toys, balls, and buoys at night. She was an avid reader with a big book collection and liked doing puzzles.
Katherine is survived by companion Scott Barnhart of Catawissa, and three brothers; Stephen Brown and wife Cathy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Stanley Brown and wife Nancy of Boulder, Colorado and Jamie Brown and wife Kelly of Evergreen, Colorado, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held February 27, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, with Chaplin Chris Dunlap officiating.
