Kenneth M. Snyder, 88, of Catawissa passed away Monday January 23, 2017 at Bloomsburg Hospital Emergency Room. He was born February 21, 1928 in Girard Manor, Schuylkill County, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Hill) Snyder.
He graduated from Catawissa High School class of 1947 and then started working at Magee Carpet where he worked for over 57 years. Ken was a member of Roaring Creek and Catawissa Valley Historical Study Group, and attended Elysburg Alliance Church. He was a jack of all trades. If anyone called and needed something he was always willing to help. Ken enjoyed spending time with his family.
Kenneth is survived by his three daughters; Mary Snyder, Kathryn Hinterliter and husband Edward, and Alice Snyder all of Catawissa, seven siblings; Lucille Morrison, Bloomsburg, Donald Snyder, Catawissa, Carl Snyder and wife Jean of Catawissa, Geraldine McWilliams of Bloomsburg, Dale Snyder and wife Janet of Catawissa, MaryLue Wolfe and husband Larry of Catawissa, and Linda Hoffman and husband Donald of Catawissa. As well as six grandchildren; Matthew Snyder, Faith Mummey, Shawn Snyder, Heather Gray, Inga Maciejewski, and Monica Taylor, and five great-grandchildren; Lindsey Mummey, Rachael Mummey, Richard Gray II., Hayden Taylor, and Eva Taylor.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife the former Mary Tyson, three siblings; James Snyder, Emma Stanchock, and Leonard Snyder, grandson Morgan Snyder III, and two great-grandsons Richard Gray Jr., and William Gray.
Services will be Friday January 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with Michael Palachick officiating. Burial will follow at Freewill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday January 26, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
