Mary V. Mackavage 91, of Bloomsburg passed away July 5, 2015 at Balanced Care Bloomsburg. She was born October 2, 1923 in Shamokin.
She attended school in Shamokin. Mary is one of the last Rosie the Riveters from WWII. Enjoyed doing girl scouts and boy scouts, and had 6 eagle scouts in her family. She liked doing crafts and was a loving mother.
Mary is survived by a daughter Linda Pender and husband John of Sinking Springs, PA, two granddaughters; Michele Mackavage Hilllier of New Mexico, and Sherry Mackavage O’Donnell of Maryland. Also, two step grandchildren; Carolyn and Scott Pender of New York City. A brother Clem Kreischer of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Leo John Mackavage, and a son Michael John Mackavage who passed away February 27, 2015.
Services will be Monday July 13, 2015 at 10:00 am at The Allen R. Horne Funeral Home, 193 McIntyre Road Catawissa with Rev. Chadrick Carter of RCV United Methodist Church officiating.
