Matthew Mindler Obituary
Matthew Paul Mindler, 61, of Catawissa passed away February 22, 2020 at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. He was born March 23, 1958 in Fountain Hill, Pa, a son of Lamar Mindler and the late Catherine (Coladonato) Mindler.
He graduated from Bloomsburg High School, after which he served in the army as a medic and obtained certificates in Surgical Technology from UC Berkley. He was recently retired after working at RR Donnelly, Kawneer, and also performing magic for children's birthdays as “The Magic Klown”.
Matthew was an avid lover of life and his infectious spirit radiated into the world around him. He never met a stranger and his humor was one of a kind. He enjoyed many hobbies like camping, motor cycles, sailing, and exploring and sharing the wonders of nature and the human experience. Matthew had many adventures in traveling, including Costa Rica, the Philippines, and frequent visits to Michigan to visit family and spend time with his father.
Matthew is survived by his father and step-mother, Lamar and Betty Mindler of Rockford, Michigan, children Matthew Mindler II. of Catawissa, Halley Mindler of Columbus, Ohio, Zac Getkin and wife Heather of Berwick, Linsey Bankes and husband Philip of Berwick, three grandchildren, brother Lamar R. Mindler Jr. and wife Kathy of Morley, Michigan, step-sister Cindy King of New Zealand.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine (Coladonato) Mindler and her companion Harry Johnson, brother Lawrence "Larry" Mindler, and granddaughter Natalie Bankes.
Celebration of life will be held March 14th, 2020 at 2pm at Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road Catawissa. Burial at convenience of family. Family will receive friends from 1pm until time of service at the funeral home.
