Nevin Ned Long

Nevin Ned Long, 84, of Danville went to be with the Lord, Sunday May 14, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born March 10, 1939, in Coal Township, a son of the late Clayton and Verna (Baskin) Long.

He graduated from Shamokin High School and then joined United States Army and the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40, V.F.W. Post 298. Nevin enjoyed collecting coins and loved to read. He worked in New Jersey, for many years in the maintenance Department, for a large High-Rise complex.

Nevin is survived by his son, Timothy James Long and his wife Sylvia of Riverside, and brother Ned Long of Milton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six siblings, Neil, Nathan, Noel, Norman, Nelson, and Miriam.
