Oliver R. Fink Jr.

Oliver R. Fink Jr., 87, of Millgrove Road, Catawissa, died Friday, March 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.

Born August 13, 1932, in Millgrove, PA, he was the son of the late Oliver R. and Geraldine (Bond) Fink. A graduate of Numidia High School, Oliver enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean War era from November 1953 to October 1955. While in the Army, he served in the motor pool while posted overseas. This, combined with the years he spent working in his father’s auto & farm equipment repair garage as a young man led Oliver to become an over the road truck driver for most of his working years until he retired in the mid 1990s to tend his tree farm full time. Oliver loved life; had a passion for the outdoors and spending time with his only grandson, Julian. He also loved visiting with friends who frequently stopped by his garage. There was no place like Millgrove for him. He also enjoyed golfing, baseball, NASCAR, fishing, music, and playing the piano. Oliver was a humble, gentle, wise man and he will be greatly missed by a village of friends and family. May his soul rest in peace.

Preceding him in death was his sister, Marianne Valencik and husband Michael Valencik; brother-in-law, Dr. Frank Begg.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Teresa (Kundrick) Fink; both of his daughters:  Julie Harms and husband Kenneth Harms of Catawissa, and Janice Ebanks and husband Joey Ebanks of Grand Cayman; his sister, Sue Begg of Pittsburgh, PA; his grandson, Julian Ebanks of Catawissa; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Oliver’s life will be held on a date to be announced later, possibly in summer or fall. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen R.
