Pearl F. Miller, 90, of Catawissa, went to be with the Lord on Friday October 27, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center where she had been a patient for one week. Pearl was born August 12, 1927, in Catawissa, a daughter of the late Stanley and Edna (Fetteroff) Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Allen L. Miller, in 2009, and five siblings, Charles Hughes, Caroline Karnes, Harriet Bonustio, Velma Broadt and Margaret Huber.
Pearl was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School's class of 1945. In her younger years she worked for Weis Jewelry in Bloomsburg and Bun Catering. Later, she worked for Mrs. Robert Brown in Danville for 20 years. She was a member of Kulp United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was Sunday School Superintendent for ten years. Pearl spent most of her married life on Independent Street, Catawissa, and the last 7 years at Grandview Rehabilitation Center. She especially enjoyed baking, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles. While at Grandview her activities included bingo, making the weekly announcements, and any celebrations.
Pearl’s mind remained sharp until the very end and she kept a daily diary to remind other family members of important details.
Pearl is survived by her sister-in-law Gloria Hermanski, niece Jan Hickey and husband James, and nephews Randall Fetterman and wife Penny, and James Hernanski and wife Suzann.
