Phyllis M (Schrader) Mensch

Phyllis M. Mensch, 86, of Danville passed away on Friday May 26, 2023, at her residence. She was born September 10, 1936, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late John and Florence (Carman) Schrader.

She graduated from Troy High School and attended Wilkes University. Phyllis worked at Geisinger Medical Center as a Medical Technologist, retiring in 1991. She was a member of Roaring Creek Valley United Methodist Church. Phyllis enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, camping, skating, square dancing and reading. She loved to travel the world. Above all else, however, she loved to be surrounded by her family.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Eugene L. Mensch, whom she married January 25, 1958, celebrating 65 years of marriage. She is also survived by her daughter Vicki Mensch of Danville, two grandsons; Martin (Tabitha) Mensch and Michael Mensch (Tashara Campbell), and four great-grandchildren; Marcus, Merrick, Mira, Evelyn, and sister Nancy (Tom) Reed of Binghamton, New York. Phyllis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her son Scott Mensch who passed away on October 3, 2014, and brother John “Jack” Schrader.

Graveside services will be Thursday June 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Elan Memorial Park, Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg, with Chaplain Bob Barnes officiating.
