Phyllis D. Runge

Phyllis D. Runge, 94, of Bloomsburg went to be with the Lord on Thursday July 31, 2025 at the Gardens at Millville. She was born February 9, 1931 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Donald and Verda Gilbert.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Numidia. Phyllis enjoyed doing word find books, reading Amish stories, but most important was taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by three children: Diana L. Chamberlin husband Donald of Bloomsburg, Lynn R. Runge of Bloomsburg, Thomas L. Runge wife Maria of Numidia, three grandchildren: Kelley Wersinger husband Bryant, Joshua T. Runge wife Melissa, Jessica M. Maury husband John, and four great-grandchildren: Leah, Briella, Emery, and Caden,

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband LeRoy Runge who passed away on March 27, 2004, daughter Debra K. Seidel who passed away on June 13, 2019, five brothers: Donald, Ted, Keith, Wayne, Dale, and sister Gloria Herritt.

Services will be Wednesday August 6, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with her Pastor, Rev. Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
