Ray Wilmer LeVan

Ray Wilmer LeVan, 77, of Catawissa went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family March 17, 2016 at his residence. He was born December 12, 1938 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Paul Raymond and Mabel Irene (Mensch) LeVan.

He graduated from Locust Township High School and Pennsylvania State University. He worked for Agway for 17 years, and farmed all of his life. Ray was a former director and member of barber shop chorus for many years, treasurer of Locust Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Farm Bureau, Locust Township Zoning Board. He was a member of Grace UCC, Milgrove. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, and music.

Ray is survived by his wife the former Joyce Ranie Yocum, whom he married October 13, 1956 at Kulp United Methodist Church, and four children: Sherry Dove and husband Larry, Denise Kreisher and husband Chris, Yvonne Rhodes, and Dana LeVan and companion Roberta Cook, five grandchildren: Mark Kreisher and wife Joanna, Daniel Kreisher and wife Kristin, Taylor Rhodes, Marisa Rhodes, and Sam LeVan, and five great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Grant, Marshall, Nathan, and Lucas Kreisher. Also, three sisters: Elaine Bittner and husband Ray, Ruthe May and husband Walter, Diane Bittner and husband Tim, and brother Dennis LeVan and wife Barbara.

Services will be Tuesday March 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mill Grove Church, 1 Pension St., Catawissa with Pastor David Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Grove Cemetery.
