Raymond A. Yeager, 89, of Catawissa, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at The Gardens at Orangeville.
He was born March 18, 1928 near Numidia, a son of the late William and Laura (Rarig) Yeager.
He attended schools in Locust Township. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 until 1948. He worked on the farm with his father until his father retired. After that he worked at Branch Trucking, Knoebels Grove Park and Rohrbachs Farm Market. He was a lifetime member of Valley Chemical Fire Company and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
He loved gardening, his flowers, hunting, playing cards and his also enjoyed spending time with his family. He lived his entire life near Numida.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Pauline (Yeager) Frey.
He is survived by his wife the former Geraldine (Kreisher) Yeager, with whom he has married to for over sixty nine years and two sons Rick A. Yeager and his wife Mary of Atlas; James A. Yeager and his wife Marie of West Chester and a daughter Donna J. Yeager of Numidia and twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Also a sister Ruth Fishel of Elizabethtown and many cousins and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be March 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 27A Ringtown Mountain Rd. Catawissa, Pa 17820, with his Pastor Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Raymond’s memory to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church c/o Ruth Vaughn 27A Ringtown Mountain Rd.
