Richard L. Wilson Jr., 64, of Catawissa, Pa, passed away June 5, 2022. Rick passed away at home with loving family by his side. He fought a 7-month brain tumor battle with strength, grace and positivity.
Rick met his wife of 44 years, the former Tracey Mills, while at SCA Highschool in 1976. After a 2-year courtship, they wed. Rick was so proud of his children Richard L. Wilson 111, age 44, of Mt. Carmel, PA, and Robert P. Wilson, age 41, of Binghamton, NY.
Rick was a very hard worker and a great provider for his family. He enjoyed sharing stories of helping to build the waterslides and Jet Star at Knoebels. Rick also loved riding roller coasters, a joy he shared with his family and parents, Richard L. Wilson Sr., Lititz, PA, and Mary L. Wilson, deceased.
Fortunately, Rick and Tracey were able to travel and enjoy life to its fullest since retiring in 2018 from Larson Design Group. He did however continue to work briefly at Atlantic Equipment Specialists.
Rick had many hobbies over the years, but his favorites by far included, hunting, golf, travel, and sampling new craft beers. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed the comradery with his son Rick 111, and friends at the Woodruff farm. Rick shared his love of music with his son Bob. Rick loved playing his guitars and often said the lead guitar solo in Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” song was “Short, but one of the best ever”.
Rick is survived by his spouse, children, father, siblings: Linda Nicholas & spouse, Thomas, Ephrata, PA, Thomas Wilson & spouse, Melanie, Harrisburg, PA, Becky Blass & spouse Jeffrey, Catawissa, PA. Also surviving, are step grandchildren Taylor Exley, spouse Chris, and daughter Harper of Reedsville, PA, Shane Guyer, Pleasant Gap, PA, daughter-in-law Michelle Guyer, Mt. Carmel, PA, and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A poem Rick wrote for Tracey 10/22/76 sums up his life...
