Richard "Dick" W Sober

Richard “Dick” W. Sober, 92, of Catawissa, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday September 20, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center Danville. He was born June 4, 1930, in Johnstown, PA, a son of the late Lake and Sarah (Graham) Sober.

He graduated from Catawissa High School and then joined the United States Navy where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a lifelong member of Catawissa American Legion Post 541. Dick enjoyed golfing and sitting in his carport watching the world go around. 

Dick is survived by two children; Rick Wade Sober wife Sharon, Deneen Casey husband David, all of Catawissa, three grandchildren; Jennifer Kashi, Chadd Sober, Corey Sober, and four great-grandchildren; Gabrielle Kashi, Grant Kashi, Julia Sober, and Jansen Sober. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife the former Faye Hunsinger who passed away in 1999.

Graveside services will be held Friday September 23, 2022 at 11:00 am Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg, PA, with Chaplain Jeffrey Diehl officiating. Everyone is invited.
