Rita R. (Glowaski) Norwich

Rita R. Norwich 91, of Catawissa passed away July 23, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville. She was born May 22, 1924 in Cleveland Township, a daughter of the late Enoch and Mary (Haladay) Glowaski.

Rita graduated from Locust High School in 1942.  She worked at Emmie shirt factory in Catawissa, and worked for District Justice Blass and Breech for many years retiring in 1989.  She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, bowling, gardening, watching Phillies games, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church where she was one of the oldest members. She played the organ for over 50 years, and was a member of helping hands with the church and the flower club.

Rita is survived by four children: Marianne Doraski and companion Walter Yost of West Seneca, N.Y., John R Furdyn of Catawissa, Ted J. Furdyn and wife Nancy of Catawissa, and Joseph Norwich of Catawissa.  As well as four grandchildren; Joseph J. Doraski, David M. Doraski, Christine Horne, and Nicholas Furdyn and five great grandchildren; Julia and Joseph Doraski, Lane, Hannah, and Luke Horne. Also, a brother Edward Glowaski of Ohio, and a sister Maria Denker of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as by her first husband John Furdyn in 1957, second husband Joseph W. Norwich in 1998, a sister Regine Fabick, and an infant brother Larry Glowaski.
