Sylvia (Rarig) Rozell

Sylvia Rarig Rozell of Catawissa died early Friday morning, May 29 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was 80 years old.

Born in Numidia on January 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Amy Bittner Rarig and the late Raymond R Rarig.

She was a graduate of the Roaring Creek Valley school of Numidia, class of 1958

She lived in Rock Glen PA for more than 50 years, moving to Catawissa later in life. Due to medical reasons, she was placed in Grandview Nursing Facility 2 years ago.

She was preceded in death by her previous husbands, Joel Myers and Ed Rozell, her step-mom Kathryn Fetterolf and some in-laws and nieces and nephews.

She is survived by siblings – Lester Sholly (Marlene) of Colby, Wisconsin; Sharon Reichenbach (Richard) of Benton; Jay Rarig of Catawissa; Rhonda List (Jack) of Pietown, NM; Jackie Shuman (Robert) of Bloomsburg, Madelyn Temple (Roger) of Catawissa and Cara Sears with whom she made her home before residing at Grandview.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, greats and other family too numerous to name.

A memorial service will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family. In place of sending flowers, please consider a charitable donation to ASPCA, Humane Society and the Veterans Administration or any charity of your choice.
