Thomas F. Doraski, 87, of Catawissa passed away October 23, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born January 12, 1928 in Catawissa, a son of the late John and Ruth (Shutt) Doraski.
He attended McIntire One Room School, Catawissa and St. Mary’s in Nutley, New Jersey. Thomas owned and operated Tom Doraski Automatic Transmission Service, Catawissa. He enjoyed watching TV, especially NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed traveling from the tip of Nova Scotia, all through Canada, Alaska, and all through the United States and into Mexico. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Catawissa.
Thomas is survived by his wife, the former Theresa L. Gregorowicz, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with on April 16, as well as two children; Diane Speer and husband Daniel of Catawissa, and Kelly Huntington and husband Alan of Catawissa, a sister Ruth Zanella and husband Albert of Dale City, Virginia. Three grandchildren; Jessica Kozian and husband Sam, Kenneth Huntington and wife Amika, and Becky Gallup and husband Gary; five great-grandchildren: Dylan, Logan, and Colin Kozian, and Hailey and Aleisha Gallup.
A mass of Christian burial will be Monday October 26, 2015 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 304 Slabtown Rd, Catawissa, PA 17820 with Father Raymond Orloski officiating. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery, Slabtown. Family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 am till time of service.
