Vera A (Adams) Davis

Vera A. Davis, 86, of Catawissa went to be with the Lord Monday February 26, 2018 at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital. She was born February 2, 1932 in Cleveland Township, a daughter of the late David L. and Alvaretta (Levan) Adams.

She graduated from Ralpho High School class of 1949. She worked on the family farm with her husband, spent many years working at Rohrbach Farm Market, Knoebels Catering, Cleveland Township Election Committee Service, and as a Catawese Coach Line Tour Escort. Vera’s passion was her church family and serving her Lord. She was the Church organist at St. Paul’s and Roaring Creek Valley Church for 60 plus years. She traveled to 49 states and to the Holy Land twice. Vera enjoyed sewing and quilting. She loved picnics and family gatherings and followed all her grandchildren’s school and sporting activities.

Vera is survived by three children; Jerry D. Davis and wife Sandra of Catawissa, Sandra K. Packer of Camp Hill, PA, Brian D. Davis and wife Renee of Catawissa, six grandchildren; Rachael Hussey, Bridgette Packer, Greg Davis, Beth Davis, Hanna Davis, Camyrn Davis, three great-grandchildren; Tripp, Jameson, and Brooklyn Hussey, and two sisters; Lois Adams and Carol LeVan both of Lewisburg.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Daniel M. Davis who passed away November 8, 1974, two brothers; David and Nevin Adams, and sister Anna Mowery.

Services will be Saturday March 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Roaring Creek Valley United Methodist Church, 6 Orchard Dr., Catawissa with her pastor, Pastor Adam Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Esther Furnace Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday March 2, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa and Saturday March 3, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
