Willard M. Mensch Jr., 88, of Elysburg passed away Wednesday April 22, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a brief hospital stay.
He was born July 25, 1926 in Fisherdale the son of the late Willard and Velma (Watkins) Mensch.
Willard graduated from Ralpho Township (Elysburg) High School. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a laborer all of his life spending many of his early working years at Magee Carpet Co., Bloomsburg. He finished his career by retiring from National Gypsum Corporation, Milton. He attended Grace Chapel Church in Overlook, Pa.
His is survived by three children: Deborah Goodman of Riverside, April Wengren and her husband John of Catawissa, and Mark Mensch and his companion Jill Pennington Kocher of Elysburg. Two grandsons David and Allen Mensch of Bloomsburg, a great-granddaughter, a brother Dean Mensch of Elkton, MD, a brother-in-law Joseph Hine of Round Rock, TX, and a sister-in-law Ruby Mensch of Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ardis Hine who passed away in 2006, ending a marital span of 55 years. Also, son-in-law J. Michael Goodman and a brother Daniel Mensch.
